El continente sudamericano, liderado por El Salvador y Brasil, se está moviendo rápidamente hacia el mercado de Bitcoin y criptomonedas. La República Federativa de Brasil, a través de la Cámara de Diputados, aprobó el uso de criptomonedas como forma de pago. Coincidentemente, el precio de Bitcoin y casi todo el criptomercado están en verde el miércoles. El precio de Bitcoin se ha disparado a un máximo intradiario de $17k, con Ethereum subiendo un 4% en las últimas 24 horas.

Una mirada más cercana a Brasil y la legalización de los criptopagos

Si bien Brasil no ha convertido a Bitcoin en una moneda de curso legal como lo hizo El Salvador el año pasado, se espera que el comercio entre los dos países aumente drásticamente en los próximos años. Además, su proximidad y adopción de Bitcoin fomentará un comercio fluido entre los dos países sudamericanos.

El proyecto de ley de criptomonedas está esperando que el brazo ejecutivo brasileño encabezado por el presidente Jair Bolsonaro selle su aprobación. Tras la aprobación, la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores de Brasil (CVM) tendrá un tremendo poder sobre la mayoría de los criptoactivos en el país. Además, el dominio combinado de Bitcoin y Ethereum es aproximadamente el 53% de la capitalización total del mercado. Por lo que toda la industria de altcoin probablemente caerá bajo la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores de Brasil.

De acuerdo con la ley brasileña de activos virtuales, el Banco Central de Brasil (BCB) supervisará el proceso de adopción para garantizar una implementación fiscal adecuada. Además, los brasileños en la diáspora se benefician significativamente del uso de criptoactivos en pagos transfronterizos. 

Sin embargo, el proyecto de ley rechazó una cláusula que buscaba reducir algunos impuestos estatales y federales sobre las compras de máquinas mineras de Bitcoin. No obstante, el proyecto de ley de activos virtuales brasileño tiene la intención de definir claramente a los proveedores de servicios criptográficos, incluidos los intercambios centralizados.

Tras la implosión de Terra, FTX y Alameda, el gobierno federal brasileño tiene la intención de investigar a fondo todas las criptoempresas antes de emitir una licencia de operación, según el proyecto de ley. Por ejemplo, parte del proyecto de ley establece que las empresas de criptografía tendrán que definir y separar con precisión los fondos de los clientes y el capital de la empresa.

El panorama general de Bitcoin en Brasil

El mercado de criptomonedas se ha reducido significativamente en valor en los últimos doce meses. Sin embargo, los países sudamericanos están comprometidos con la adopción de Bitcoin y otros activos virtuales para impulsar las empresas locales. Se espera que el turismo en la región aumente significativamente en comparación con años anteriores. Además, es probable que los inversores globales en criptomonedas visiten estos países para realizar inversiones estratégicas.
