Michael Saylor sugiere que BTC podría alcanzar los $500k en la próxima década si iguala la capitalización de mercado del oro.

El cofundador y presidente de MicroStrategy, Michael Saylor, predijo que el precio de bitcoin alcanzará su máximo histórico en noviembre de 2021, aproximadamente $69.000, “en algún momento dentro de los próximos cuatro años”.

Con el tiempo, el hombre de 57 años se ha presentado como un partidario abierto de la criptomoneda líder, y su empresa es el mayor tenedor corporativo de BTC.

A principios de esta semana, la compañía acumuló 301 monedas adicionales, redondeando el total a 130.000 BTC.

El ejecutivo parece no inmutarse por el criptoinvierno en curso ya que, a pesar de la caída del mercado este año, todavía cree que Bitcoin alcanzará su máximo histórico nuevamente.

Durante su última entrevista, fue más allá y predijo que el principal activo digital podría negociarse a $500.000 en la próxima década si iguala la capitalización de mercado del oro.

Según él, “el siguiente paso lógico para bitcoin es reemplazar el oro como un activo valioso”.

A pesar de la diferencia significativa actual entre la capitalización de mercado de los dos activos (el oro ronda los 11 billones de dólares, mientras que el bitcoin ronda los 365.000 millones de dólares), Saylor suele preferir las criptomonedas.

El año pasado, describió los méritos de BTC y afirmó que es 50 veces mejor que el metal precioso. En los últimos meses, reafirmó esa postura y dijo que el activo es “obviamente mejor que el oro y todo lo que el oro quiere ser”. 

En lugar de que Bitcoin llegue a cero, como algunos podrían predecir dada la reciente caída de precios, Saylor predijo que la moneda se dispararía hasta $ 1 millón en los próximos años.

MicroStrategy sigue comprando BTC

Hace unos días, la empresa volvió a interactuar con bitcoin, gastando $6 millones para comprar 301 monedas a un precio promedio de $19.851 por activo.

Sin embargo, debido al colapso del mercado, MicroStrategy actualmente está experimentando una pérdida masiva no realizada en su inversión. A lo largo de los años, la compañía ha gastado alrededor de $4 mil millones para acumular el activo, esta cantidad ahora vale aproximadamente $2.5 mil millones.
