¿Pdvsa podrá obtener dinero de las ventas de Chevron? EEUU lo aclaró

La Casa Blanca autorizó este fin de semana la licencia para que la petrolera Chevron pueda restablecer sus operaciones en el país. Sin embargo, Estados Unidos aclaró que esta medida impide que Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) pueda obtener lucro de las ventas.

El Departamento del Tesoro publicó este lunes un comunicado sobre la Licencia General 41 sobre Venezuela, emitida el 26 de noviembre. Al respecto, subrayó que se mantienen las sanciones implementadas por Washington en contra de Pdvsa.

“Esta autorización impide que Pdvsa obtenga un lucro de las ventas petroleras de Chevron”, aclara el comunicado. “Autoriza actividades relacionadas con los emprendimientos conjuntos de Chevron en Venezuela únicamente”, acotó.

En consecuencia, Chevron no podrá mantener otro tipo de operaciones con la petrolera nacional, como puede ser el pago de beneficios. “No autoriza otras actividades con Pdvsa”, reiteró el comunicado.

SIGUEN SANCIONES A PDVSA

El comunicado confirmó que, a pesar de autorizar a Chevron a “reanudar operaciones limitadas de extracción de recursos naturales en Venezuela”, las estrictas sanciones en contra de Pdvsa siguen en pie.

“Siguen vigentes otras sanciones y restricciones relacionadas con Venezuela. Estados Unidos seguirá exigiendo que rindan cuentas todos los actores que participen en hechos de corrupción, violen las leyes o cometan abusos de derechos humanos en Venezuela”, agregó.

El Departamento del Tesoro insistió que “hará cumplir enérgicamente” las sanciones implementadas a Pdvsa. Esto se debe a que la licencia solo autoriza transacciones que “resultan necesarias para ciertas actividades a la operación y administración” de Chevron.

La Casa Blanca aclaró que la autorización para Chevron fue en respuesta al restablecimiento del diálogo entre la oposición y el chavismo. Por tanto, ratificó que relajará sanciones “si se adoptan medidas concretas para mitigar el sufrimiento” de los venezolanos.
