Microsoft is developing a new OneDrive application for Windows 11, betting on a modern design that combines file management with a prominent approach in the visualization and editing of photos and videos.
The application appeared filtered from the Microsoft servers themselves, and media like Windows Central have been able to try it.
Although the app It is based on the web, uses a design language that mixes fluent design with web elements, including rounded menus and acrylic blur effects. All contextual and deployable menus have this blurred effect. In the upper left corner you can alternate between gallery mode and file mode.

In file mode, the interface is practically identical to the OneDrive website, But it incorporates a new co -ilot function. When passing the cursor on a file, you can open a co -pilot chat to generate summaries, frequent questions or interact with the content without opening it.
The gallery mode includes buttons to navigate Moments, Gallery, Albums, People and Favorites. The Moments function is similar to that of the mobile app, showing photos taken the same day in previous years visually attractive. In addition, by selecting a photo A floating menu appears at the bottom that allows you to edit or delete images.

Although Windows 11 already integrates OneDrive in the file explorer and in the APP photos, this new application seems to be intended for users who prefer to organize everything in one place, without having to alternate between different system apps.
At first glance, the app stands out for its fluidity and response capacity, even being a web application. At the moment, Microsoft has not confirmed the launch date, although everything indicates that more information will be given during the special OneDrive event scheduled for October 8.
