Luxury yachts are already part of the technology industryarchitectural and tourist. For example, there are models that attract a lot of attention and have served for their evolution, such as the Avanguardia, which has the shape of a swan or the Air Yacht that sails and flies.

In fact, relevant figures have their own with which they travel dailylike Mark Zuckerberg with his superyacht and Jeff Bezos with a boat bigger than Rotterdam. Evidently, the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, was not going to be left behind.

The Al Lusail is one of the most luxurious and advanced megayachts in the world and is making a big impression with its recent arrival in the port of Malaga, Spain. Not only for its design and capabilities, but also for its energy impact and daily maintenance cost of thousands of euros.

Al Lusail requires the same energy as more than 3,700 houses and around 9,000 euros per day

From Luxury Launches they report that the “floating palace” of the emir of Qatar has finally arrived at the Levante Pier in the port of Malaga. This model manufactured by Lürssen in 2017 and developed by H2 Yacht Design next to March and Whitehas a dimension of 123 m x 23 m x 5.50 m.

That is an immense size that makes it what is known as a “megayacht.” The space required to remain parked has been such that it has had to stand next to rotating vessels such as Windstar’s Star Legend cruise ship at the IGY Málaga Marina.

At the moment, It is one of the most impressive in the Mediterranean and there is a great commotion at the gateway to the Costa del Sol. As usual, these vehicles of Qatari royalty and magnates usually make trips depending on the season.

Now, Spain has been one of the visit targets and is probably a stopover also for refueling or maintenance. Among its other features, it is tonnage 8,489 GT and a speed of 15 knots (28 km/h).

Precisely for this reason, the source affirms that it silently consumes around 1,400 kilowatts per hour without being in motion. Therefore, a total 24-hour consumption would be 34.5 megawatt hours.

This not only means that the daily cost of the electricity bill exceeds 10,000 dollars (8,650 euros), but that the energy demand could cover between “3,600 and 3,900 typical Spanish homes”.

Apparently, the reason why the luxury yacht has to be supplied with so much energy It is due to the HVAC air conditioning systemlaundry points, audiovisual rooms and pool or jacuzzi areas.

To have an idea, making the average calculation of 2.5 people in 3,700 houses, would be an approximate 9,250 people who would receive a supply of electricitywhile the Al Lusail accommodates about 36 guests with a crew of 56.

However, the power and great advantages offered by its architecture are what make this resource needed in large quantities. This luxury yacht made a stop before Malaga in Gibraltar and it is thought that it could last 2 to 5 days in the aforementioned port.
