The Ibex 35 cannot handle new highs. Closes below 16,600 points with a triggered Inditex

What intraday – and half an hour before closing the session – for the IBEX 35 was a new historical high, the seventh of the year and the first of December, after the three achieved, respectively, in the months of October and November, has become, in the final stretch of the session, decisive but relative gains compared to what was seen in the stock market day.

However, the Spanish selective marks eight sessions on the rise with more than 5% accumulated, with levels that exceed 16,600 points at closing, given the increase in the negative sign for the banks, which join the falls of some energy companies in this third stock market session of the week.

Today also with its own name, Inditex, which has skyrocketed after knowing its quarterly results that close the presentation circle, in what has turned out to be a more than good season, not only in Spain, but also, in general, throughout Europe.

The IBEX 35 closes on Wednesday with increases of 0.68% to 16,585.70 points with gains for values ​​such as Inditex 8.86%, Indra 3.65% and Puig 1.73% and decreases for companies such as Enagas 2.41%, Mapfre 2.22% and ArcelorMittal 1.88%.

The big protagonist of the day is Inditex, which has published its quarterly results. The textile giant achieved a net profit of 4,622 million euros during the first nine months of its fiscal year, which runs from February 1 to October 31, which represents an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period last year.

Sales grew by 2.7%, up to 28,171 million euros, with a “satisfactory” evolution both in store and online. The operating result (EBITDA) grew by 4.2% and stood at 8,303 million euros. EBIT grew by 4.8%, to 5,943 million euros. Inditex has also assured that “the collections of the autumn/winter campaign continue to be well received by our customers.”

And the big key that the market has read positively: In-store and online sales at constant exchange rates between November 1 and December 1, 2025 have grown by 10.6% compared to the same period in 2024 (+9% between November 1 and November 24, 2025.

The value soars intraday above 10% and leads the gains of this session, as the main driver of the highs.

In addition, ACS enters the largest European lithium project and invests 130 million in the German Vulcan Energy, according to a publication Five Days. Besides, The Economist highlights that the company earns 282 million from the sale of 50% of its transportation business in Australia and partners with the Japanese company Sojitz to expand to Asia. One of the factors that drives value in the market.

Meanwhile, Indra sells the business process outsourcing unit to Teknei for 96.6 million euros. And progressive rise in the final part of the day while the possibilities of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine are frozen, because yesterday’s meetings, with the American envoy, according to the Kremlin, did not give results.

Furthermore, from a technical point of view, 47.34 euros per share is activated, a level that, if exceeded at the close or in future sessions, would activate potential advances towards maximums.

In analyst recommendations, Citigroup cuts Enagas’ recommendation to sell from neutral; raises the target price to 13.1 euros from 12.8 euros. JP Morgan raises Ferrovial’s target price from 58 to 65 euros per share.

Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley improves Solaria’s recommendation to neutral and the target price to 15 euros, and also raises Endesa’s target price to 29 euros.

Already in Europe, EURO STOXX 50 rises 0.20% to 5,697 points, the CAC 40 advances 0.16% to 8,087 points, the Dox tweeted a 0.07% to 23,700 points, and the session in London ends for el FT 100 with falls of 0.14% to 9,688 points.

The purchase price could rise to $5.5 billion if Celestial hits revenue milestones, according to Marvell.

Apparel retailer American Eagle Outfitters soars almost 15% and marks its best year-over-year level after announcing a solid start to the holiday shopping season. American Eagle raised its comparable sales forecast for the fiscal fourth quarter to a range of between 8% and 9%. Previously, it had anticipated a single-digit increase.

At the end of the day in the Spanish stock market, the DOW JONES Ind Average remains with advances of 0.45% to 47,687 points, with an S&P 500 that advances 0.17% to 6,841 and a Nasdaq OMX that marks levels at 23,723 points and rises 0.05%.

In the rest of the market, we start with the fixed income market, which gives up positions, with the 10-year Spanish bond, which drops 0.25% to 3.22% while the falls are 0.11% for the German bund, which is trading at 2.7491%. The risk premium fell 2.57% to 47.09 basis points.

In raw materials, oil is gaining ground, given these doubts about the American peace plan between Russia and Ukraine, with a future of the Brent barrel that rises 1.22% to $63.23while West Texas places its price at $59.50, and advances 1.47%. Gold rises 0.66% and is on the verge of $4,248 per ounce.

Now Bitcoin is rising again, with its climb towards $92,000 per asset.

Finally, in the Euro Dollar relationship, increases of 0.31% for the single currency against the greenback to 1.1661 units. The dollar marks its ninth consecutive decline on hopes of a rate cut in the US next week.
