Andres Pazos He has been in the technology sector for more than 20 years. After going through companies like Siemenscurrently holds the position of country manager for Amazon Alexa in Spain, in addition to combining his work as an adjunct professor at the IE Business School.

Therefore, as the leader of a large technology company in our country, his vision of the future is very interesting. And of all the topics to be discussed, there is one of the hottest topics for a year: the artificial intelligence.

«It is not a bubble, I would not like to use that term, it is a technological paradigm shift«, he points out during Computer Today during an interview.

The manager equates this revolution with that of the printing press, emphasizing that it was invented in 1440, but it was not until 1605 when the first newspaper was published (Relation). «Between one thing and another, more than 300 years passed, and I think the same will happen with artificial intelligence,» he explains.

With this, Pazos means that it will take years to truly embrace the full potential of this technology.

«Many companies that are just starting out will disappear because their models are very general, but others will succeed. New ones will also appear. In short: all this is so that progress continues little by little,» he comments.

«Jobs will disappear due to AI, but new ones will be created»

Another interesting point to discuss Pazos is the disappearance of jobs due to the evolution and adoption of artificial intelligence.

According to a United Nations report, one in four jobs is at risk due to this technology. The study reveals that high-income countries – including Spain – are more exposed to these changes and exposure among women continues to be significantly higher. Additionally, administrative jobs are the most exposed, due to AI’s theoretical ability to automate many tasks.

However, the manager is much more positive than this report: «I am a bit romantic about this issue. I think jobs will change: some will disappear, but new ones will also appear«.

Therefore, the real risk is not training. Pazos believes that people should not be afraid of studying generative artificial intelligence and the ethical part of it.

In the end, everything turns out to be very similar to when people had to adopt Internet learning in the 2000s. Therefore, it is essential to understand the technical part and the more philosophical and cultural part of it.

Specifically, he recommends Amazon Web Services courses, since he believes they form these two parts.
