China is running fast in everything that has to do with humanoid robots. Although these machines are not yet a one hundred percent reality (despite their colorful demonstrations), The Asian giant is already thinking about a full-fledged strategy: renting some of its models. He has even given an indicative price of how much his services would cost.

The idea may seem hasty at the point we are at (maybe it is, maybe it isn’t), but if you think about it, it has a clear objective: normalize the presence of robots, especially in jobs. Since perhaps buying them would be an investment that would generate uncertainty for many business owners, what better way to see that they work than by renting them for a while?

China is already thinking about renting robots

It has been in the Mobile World Congress 2026 held in Barcelona where the Chinese company Agibot has presented its idea. Agibot is one of the most advanced companies when it comes to humanoid robots. Many of his models are continually displayed, supposedly making great progress. They are so confident, they want people to try them.

One thing to keep in mind: humanoid robots are not going to be cheap. Not even for companies with considerable purchasing power. Although there are still no fixed prices, it is estimated that an Agibot robot could cost around $20,000 or $30,000, depending on the model and its features.. Some might cost practically the same as a car.

What Agibot proposes is that, instead of buying them, some companies rent them. First, so that they don’t have to spend so much money, obviously. That would allow more companies, not just the largest ones, to access these machines. And that, presumably, would benefit his business. The more robots that were seen out there, the more people would be interested in them.

On the other hand, if a company rents a humanoid robot and it works, it is most likely that it will have fewer doubts when it comes to owning it. The logic seems quite reasonable no matter how you look at it. The question is, how much would it cost to rent a Chinese Agibot robot? They have also revealed it, and it has surprised many people.

How much does it cost to rent a robot?

According to the company, The initial price for renting one of their robots would be around 899 euros per day. The figure, of course, has generated debate. According to some, it is an amount that is too high for ordinary mortals to be able to rent and test one of their models. Others, however, think that it is very little money, compared to what it costs to manufacture them.

In any case, the business model is clear: turn your robots into a kind of on-demand service. After all, Agibot most likely has in mind companies that want to perform routine tasks and see a production opportunity in their machines. And not so much in ordinary people, so to speak.
