Xiaomi wants to end the year on a high note. The Chinese brand has not only brought its first electric car to Spain, the Xiaomi SU7, for now as a marketing campaign and demonstration of power in the motor world, this year they are ending with great news on televisions and, for the first time , the arrival of the white range to Spain.
In an interview for Computer Today con Borja Gómez-Carrillothe head of Xiaomi in Spain and Portugal, has confirmed the arrival of large appliances in Spain very soon.
“By the end of this quarter or beginning of 2025 we will bring white and brown range products, such as refrigerators or washing machines“, he comments to Computer Today the manager. Although it does not specifically mean that the two categories will arrive in Spain, Xiaomi will begin to introduce products such as washer dryers into the Spanish market.
They are products that Xiaomi already sells in China, where they have a large number of devices that are part of their large ecosystem of connected products. The person in charge of the brand has not confirmed to us which models will arrive, but Xiaomi always tends to try a product and pivot according to interest. “If we launch a product that doesn’t go well, we are able to change it and adapt to the user”comments.
This is one of Xiaomi’s big bets in Spain for next year, but not the only one.
“This year 2024, Xiaomi has grown a lot in the connected devices part, a lot in the television part, with very relevant growth,” he commented.
The Xiaomi’s position in the world of TVs is quite goodalthough it is far from being among the top brands, where Samsung, LG, TCL, Hisense and Sony are the five that sell the most. But the Chinese brand continues to launch products that are a central part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, such as the recent Smart TVs with Mini LED panels.
“In the end it is to make the latest technology available to the consumer so that they can choose. From the new televisions that we have launched, Xiaomi TV S Mini between 55 and 85 inches, or the range of up to 100 inches. We want the end consumer to be able to choose “, he concludes.
Gómez-Carrillo also confirms Computer Today that this year they have had a great growth in scooter salesa seasonal spring-summer product, thanks in part to the bans on shared scooters in cities like Madrid.
Don’t expect Xiaomi’s electric car anytime soon, but it will arrive
Xiaomi’s own CEO has just announced the production of your 100,000th car in just 230 days. It took 3 years to produce the first unit and it will take at least three more years for an electric car mass produced by Xiaomi to hit Spanish roads, at least one unit sold directly by the brand itself.
“At the beginning of the year, our founder announced that Xiaomi electric cars are planned to be launched on the European market in three years,” says Gómez-Carrillo.
“We are going to make a large local investment and have everything ready at the sales and after-sales service level,” the manager clarifies. In addition to putting the car on sale, the company will have to create a sales, after-sales and technical service system to support its future customers interested in changing their vehicle for an electric one.
Which Xiaomi car will arrive in Spain? For now, no one knows, but Xiaomi SU7 is the first generation available in China and in three years there will be time, at least, to launch a couple more versions if they follow Tesla’s roadmap.
