Last February, Amazon announced one of the most important launches in its recent history, Alexa+, the new generation of its assistant with generative artificial intelligence, to compete with today’s most popular chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
Although it has been available on the company’s devices since the beginning of the year – in the United States, but not in Spain where we are still waiting for it – Amazon’s new artificial intelligence had a significant deficiency compared to the rest of its rivals’ AIs: it could not be accessed from the web and from browsers.
The American technology giant has realized that and has launched an AI experience with Alexa Plus directly from the web and from the desktop, as some users have detected and how it collects The Verge.
What Alexa+ is like from the browser
To access Alexa+ from the browser, it is possible to do so from the URL alexa.comwhich previously only showed information about the digital assistant.
Upon entering, a completely renewed interface is displayed, similar to the one shown to users of the Alexa+ application for smartphones.
The main protagonist is a space to be able to write text prompts to the AI, but buttons are also included with which it is possible to attach files and shortcuts to 5 functions: Plan, learn, create, buy y finds.
This interface is very similar to that of the desktop versions of the rest of current AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot, among others.
Why it cannot be used at the moment in Spain
At the moment, Alexa+ from the browser is appearing only for some users in the United States who are already registered with an Amazon account.
The new Alexa is priced at $19.99 per month, but is free for Amazon Prime users.
In Spain it has not been possible for us to access this new AI in the tests we have carried out in Computer Todaynot even in English and having an account in the company’s subscription service.
Therefore, surely You will have to wait for the launch in Spain of Alexa+, which does not yet have a date.
