The mechanic and creator of content Ángel Gaitán has turned on the networks with harsh words that uncover something quite hidden in society: lso environmental labels have become a very dark business.

Gaitán explains the mode of operation In four steps:

  1. Install a gas system (LPG or CNG) temporarily.
  2. Homologize the car as an echo.
  3. Remove the team after the ITV.

The mechanic insists that it is not even necessary to keep the gas in the tank: «The system does not verify if you use it, only if it is installed during the inspection.» With diesel, the scam already scale at stratospheric levels: «You don’t need the gas team at all. You spend your ITV, give you your label and even the next ITV No one is going to look for you.»

Who wins and who loses with this system?

  • The cheats: they save hundreds of euros a year in taxes and tolls in city. A quick calculation: in Madrid, parking in an echo area costs 20 euros/year compared to 120 euros of a tag C.
  • The ‘specialized’ workshops: charge between 1,000 and 3,000 euros for ghost facilities, giving rise to a round business.
  • The cities: they lose income and their plans against pollution they go to garbage with hundreds of echo labels in circulation that are scams.
  • Honest drivers: pay more to meet. Why invest 30,000 euros in a real hybrid if with 1,500 euros you forge the current of yours?

Of course, the mechanic is well known for its great phrases and its criticisms of certain brands such as Elon Musk’s.

Without going any further, a few weeks ago he focused on a somewhat strange legal situation that affects the owners of Tesla vehicles: the ‘Centinela mode’ cameras record everything that happens around the car, but the images cannot be used to denounce crimes due to data protection laws.

Although the cameras of these electric cars are able to capture robberies or acts vandalism, such as scratches or crystal breaks, Spanish legislation prohibits recording on public roads without specific authorization. In a nutshell, the owners have crime evidence, but they cannot use them.

The mechanic also points out that attacks against Tesla vehicles are increasing in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao. According to him, these people act impunity because they know that recordings are not legal validity.

«This happens because we take the modern idiocy of other countries,» he says, referring to the importation of technologies without adapting them well to local regulations.
