The president of the National Securities Commission (CNV) of Argentina, Roberto E. Silva, spoke at multiple events linked to Devconnect, the Ethereum world fair. Its participation in the event, which has its annual edition this week in Buenos Aires, underlines the organization’s growing interest in the ecosystem.

During the meetings, Silva explained the institutional work from the sanction of Law No. 27,739, which put the CNV at the head of the regulation and supervision of Virtual Asset Service Providers (PSAV) and recounted the organization’s decision to take another step on the path of innovation by establishing a regime for tokenization.

“We want to promote the opportunities that digital investments represent, with the aim of contributing to the economic growth of the country, promoting the integration of new technologies into a solid and transparent capital market,” declared the president of the CNV, to argue for its regulations in the cryptocurrency industry.

The statement took place at an event organized at Casa Futuro by SEED Gov and the global Arbitrum team, within the framework of Devconnect. This was during his speech on the panel titled “Institutional Incorporation: Chain Grade Assets.”

El evento, llamado Arbitrum Bridge LATAM – Inside ArbiVerse, It was one of the parallel meetings to Devconnect that ecosystem actors are doing. This was taking advantage of the event’s call, which attracted more than 16,000 participants, as reported by NoticiasVE.

“The presence of the CNV at these global events underlines the regulator’s commitment to responsible financial innovation and the establishment of a clear regulatory framework for the PSAV sector and digital representation in the country,” the agency said.

Until 2 years ago, the CNV had no pro-cryptocurrency regulations

In another parallel event, organized by the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and EY at the Park Hyatt Hotel – Palacio Duhau, Silva remarked: “Two years ago we did not have any regulation on ‘crypto’ matters.” In that sense, he expressed that he is pleased to have defined the PSAV and tokenization regimes.

For the president of the CNV, these regulations put Argentina “at the forefront of financial innovation in the region and in the world.”

He also highlighted the joint work to address the Fintech world with other organizations, such as the Central Bank (BCRA) and the Financial Information Unit (UIF), as well as the contribution made through public consultations and the various actors in the sector.

At the Ethereum world fair in La Rural, where Silva also participated, he suggested that, beyond the regulations made, the body will continue to implement new ones that accompany the development: “We always like to look and move forward.”
