The technology company Auradine announced on March 3 its transition to a new corporate identity under the name Velaura AI. With this change, the firm seeks to capitalize on its experience in semiconductor design to address energy consumption in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, displacing the exclusive focus it maintained on Bitcoin mining.

The management of the US-based company noted that the growth of AI has made energy the main constraint in the sector. Given this scenario, Velaura AI will use its patented digital design technology “ultra efficient”, which has been previously implemented in millions of ASIC chips, to offer low-power computing solutions in cutting-edge semiconductor nodes.

Until its transition to Velaura AI, Auradine had positioned itself as a benchmark in the manufacturing of hardware (ASIC) for Bitcoin mining within the United States. The company stood out for developing locally designed and assembled semiconductor technology, which allowed it to compete in a market historically dominated by Chinese manufacturers such as Bitmain.

To lead this evolution, the organization incorporated Manu Gulatia silicon architect with experience at Apple and Google, as co-founder and director of development. Additionally, Aditya Grover, a diffusion modeling specialist and professor at UCLA, joins as a founding advisor to participate in the strategy for machine learning systems at scale.

Convergence between Bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure

The company’s reorientation occurs at a time of transformation for the mining industry. Large-scale operators, such as Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA), have begun to diversify their operations by creating data centers for AIseeking to optimize the use of its electrical infrastructure.

Until this relaunch, the company was recognized for providing specialized hardware for the cryptoasset ecosystem, including solutions such as Bitaxe mini ASIC chips, as reported by NoticiasVE. Although the firm did not detail the immediate future of its line of Teraflux miners, the new roadmap focuses exclusively on the development of hardware and software for what they call «sustainable AI.»
