  • Braiins accumulates more 150,000 total payments in LN, distributing more than 13 BTC.

  • “Our miners now receive instant payments,” said Eli Nagar, executive director of Brains.

Braiins, the Bitcoin Mining Pool (BTC) from the Czech Republic, announced in X that it has exceeded the 1,000 daily transactions in payments to the miners who participate in their platform through the Netning Netning Network (LN), a second layer chain (L2) that allows instant and cheaper transactions to be made compared to Bitcoin.

To manage payments to their miners through LN, Brains uses Voltage, a global platform that facilitates transactions both in Bitcoin and Stablcoins. According to the data, this pool processed in another year of 150,000 total payments through LNdistributing more than 13 bitcoins to the miners who participate there.

This growth is also reflected in the adoption figures: between mid -2024 and early 2025, payments through lightning network in the Pool Brains approximately 20% monthly on average grewaccording to a voltage statement in the beginning of March 2025. This increase shows the demand for solutions that simplify and expedite financial operations in the mining field.

Lightning: A future payment channel for miners?

The milestone reached by Brains highlights the potential of the Network Network to transform payments into Bitcoin mining, although it does not imply that this technology is close to becoming the universal standard for the industry.

LN offers advantages over the main network of Bitcoin: transactions are processed faster and commissions are remarkably lower, which allows miners to access their rewards faster, after having found a block on the main network.

However, operating in the LN users must keep their channels open and with sufficient liquidity, a process that can be tedious and demand constant attention. In contrast, the main Bitcoin network does not have this limitation, since transactions are direct and do not depend on channel management. For transfers from large amounts of Bitcoin, the main network is more appropriate thanks to its safety and ability to handle high amounts without liquidity restrictions imposed by LN channels.

In the context of Brains, using LN to pay Bitcoin miners, this approach could present challenges if the amount of these payments increases. Since LN is currently focused on micropayments, the increase in the amount of payments in miners rewards could complicate the management of liquidity in the channels, both for Brains and for the miners themselves.

In addition, the figure of 1,000 daily payments in Brains, is far from covering the total needs of the mining ecosystem. However, Eli Nagar, executive director of the mining company, He stressed The impact of the use of LN For payments to miners:

“Lightning payments have completely changed the way the miners receive their profits. Instead of waiting for chain transactions to confirm and pay high rates, our miners now receive instant payments and without inconvenience, every day. ”

Eli Nagar, Executive Director of Brains.

Nagar continued with his optimistic vision: «Reaching the 1,000 daily payments is just the beginning. We believe that lightning is will become the standard for payments to miners throughout the industry ».

This advance of Brains suggests that the Lightning Network network could play an important role in the future of payments to miners. However, its consolidation as the predominant channel will depend on its ability to climb and adapt to the demands of a constantly evolving sector.

The conditions of each pool, another condition in the mining reward

Likewise, each pool offers different conditions of payment and distribution of the rewards towards their miners, the rewards obtained by these do not depend only, then, on the speed and cost of the network where they receive them.

Payments in Brains “are created daily at 9:00 UTC”, according to their documents. Brains withdrawals can be done in two ways: chain payments (Ochain) and payments via Lightning Network, offering options for different needs. Chain payments have a minimum of 0.0002 BTC, with a 0.0001 BTC rate if the amount is less than 0.005 BTC (0.005 BTC withdrawals or more are free), and a maximum per transaction of 5 BTC. On the other hand, with Lightning Network, the minimum withdrawal is 1 Satoshi, the maximum is 0.005 BTC, and there are no rates.

On the other hand, the Pool of Mining Brains, the miners receive their rewards through the system “Full Pay Per Share” (FPPS, in Spanish “full payment for participation”), a method that ensures stable and predictable payments. With FPPS, each miner obtains a fixed reward for each “share”Valid that sends, calculated according to the difficulty of the network, and that is composed of the block subsidy, plus a part of the transaction rates.

For now, Braiuns’ achievement to achieve 1,000 daily transactions through LN marks a starting point in integration of the Lightning Payment channels with the workflow of Bitcoin miners.
