At some point you will have used the Chrome browser, or practically any other browser, and you will have seen the relevant pop-up window to grant some other permission to the website you are visiting, for example permission to send you notifications.
This can end up being very annoying, and that is why Google, using artificial intelligence, is testing a function called PermissionsAI.
This function uses artificial intelligence to predict the probability that a user will deny or grant said permissionand in this way offer a not so intrusive alternative to the aforementioned pop-up window.
That is, if artificial intelligence predicts that it is unlikely that you will approve said permit, will show a more discreet request insteadinstead of the more intrusive pop-up window.
Of course, for this to be possible, you will be required to enable the “safe browsing” function that protects users from fraudulent sites and downloads.
This feature will make use of the permission prediction service along with Gemini Nano v2 to study past user behavior.
This is a feature that is being tested in the Canary channel, so it remains to be seen if it will move beyond the experimental phase to reach the stable version in the coming weeks.
Google has already incorporated Gemini artificial intelligence into various parts of the browser, such as with regard to search history, but also product comparisons or the organization of open tabs.
