Microsoft imagines a Copilot capable of predicting the future

There are certain things that humans seem never to achieve, such as eternal life or time travel, but perhaps predictions of the future based on data could be closer than ever.

Microsoft has just surprised with the registration of a patent in which it would offer future prediction capabilities to Copilot.

The patent called “generative future predictions based on complex events” would use a system that collects data over time, as well as information about related events.

This would train an artificial intelligence model capable of predicting the future.

The system could obtain data that changes over time, such as financial or climate data, among others.

You could also gather information from other sources about complex events that could affect the original events. These events could be socioeconomic changes or news events.

Finally, the system would use generative networks to train the model.

As can be read, this model would be trained iteratively, that is, which would go through several rounds of learning to improve its accuracy.

In this way, the tool will improve over time based on the data and events it collects to become an almost perfect machine for predicting next movements.

Predictions of all kinds could be made, but it would especially be directed to anticipate natural disasters related to climate change.

Obviously it could also be used to anticipate machine maintenance needs or the stock market trend.

It is simply that, a patent, and at the moment artificial intelligence is quite far from trying to predict what may happen exactly in the coming years.
