On the afternoon of yesterday, February 14, 2025, the president of Argentina, Javier Milei published in his X account an message announcing the launch of the Token Libra.
As cryptootics reported it, this is a Solana token that, after its launch, It would have been used to perform a modality of fraud known as Rug-Pull.
Accounts linked to those who launched this token earned more than 80 million dollarsaccording to data analyzed by Bublemaps.
Minutes ago, shortly before 1 in the morning (Argentine time) of February 15, Milei deleted the publication in X and provided his explanation of the facts.
The president assured that he made that publication promoting the Libra cryptocurrency, because He believed to be «supporting an alleged private entrepreneurship». He clarified that he has no link with that venture.
Milei adds: «I was not internalized from the details of the project and after having internalized I decided not to continue disseminating (that’s why I erased the tweet).»
The Argentine president ends his publication with a Criticism of «the unclean rats of the political caste that want to take advantage of this situation to harm». They are directed by the last words: «I want to tell you that every day they confirm how chattering politicians are, and increase our conviction of kicking them in your ass.»
It is worth clarifying that the greatest damage has been received by those who bought this token published by the president in X and then saw how their investment was diluted, in what would have been a rug-pull (in which developers withdraw the liquidity to obtain a benefit economic).

As cryptootics reported, Many Argentine bitcoiners felt disappointed with the president’s actions. Obviously – as can be seen from his last message – the president made the promotion of an alleged scam without having informed about it before making the publication.
According to some specialists, Milei could have legal consequences for this action because it would be incompatible with its presidential function.
