OHLA soars on the stock market; Elías will maintain his participation in the company

OHLA has been the best value on the Continuous Market on Monday, finally closing with an increase of 6.69% to 38.3 euro cents, after having reached a maximum of 38.4 euro cents in intraday trading.

The catalyst for purchases today has been information from the newspaper The Economist which points to Jose Elias has been released from the restrictions that prevented it from reducing its participation in OHLA below 5%. However, For the moment it will maintain its current 8.67% in the company’s capital, as sources familiar with the Catalan businessman’s intentions have indicated to this medium.

Elías’ intention not to sell his stake in OHLA for the moment represents an extra boost for the stock, since it suggests that the stock has the potential for revaluation. It is worth remembering that Elías already adds capital gains of more than 15 million euros.

Elías is the second largest shareholder of OHLA after the Mexicans Luis and Mauricio Amodio, who account for 21.62% of the shares.

The truth is that the company is experiencing the best moment in its recent history, with an EBITDA that continues to increase steadily (3Q +30.3% compared to 2024) and with the construction business, which is the group’s core business (+52% compared to 2024).

On the other hand, the Group has recently started the operation of its new concessional highway in Brazil, which will give more visibility in the coming years to a business that will grow, as established in the Strategic Plan. In addition, a few weeks ago OHLA announced its ‘return to real estate’ with a luxury promotion and analyzing affordable housing, so the company will have greater business diversification.

With today’s rise, OHLA has already signed up a revaluation of 43% from its lows of the last 52 weeksset at 26.7 cents since April 2 of last year. Fundamental analysts covering the stock also expect this rally to continue in the medium and long term: according to data compiled by Reutersthe majority recommendation that OHLA receives is ‘comprar‘, while the target price climbs to 53 euro cents, with a potential of more than 39%.
