OLA HACKEOS alert to promote fraud with cryptocurrencies

Several accounts in social networks such as X and Instagram have been compromised in recent hours, with hackeos that have been used to promote projects with cryptocurrencies, allegedly fraudulent.

The accounts affected so far are those of companies such as the Banco Unión de Bolivia and Cryptonoticias, including that of the Real Madrid Soccer Club and that of the president of the Semler Scientific Medical Technology Company, Eric Semler.

In all of them the cybercounts included messages that sought to get the attention of cryptocurrency users, announcing when announcing New tokens launches.

In the case of Eric Semler, messages were shared that reported the alleged creation of a token under the same commercial symbol with which the company quotes in Nasdaq: SMLR.

The post indicated that the token had as a goal to unite «the exposure to institutional degree Bitcoin to a high performance ecosystem with deep liquidity and low rates» to through the Solana Red.

Before the usurpation of its digital identity, the financial entity created a new account in X and issued a statement in which he denounced the attack.

The attacks also arrived at the Spanish Club Real Madrid, whose official accounts on Instagram and Facebook were subject to sudden penetration.

The situation was denounced a few days ago, while the followers shared images of the messages leaked by the hackers, where they also announced the launch of a token. This time related to sport.

The wave of attacks also affected this medium. The X cryptootic account suddenly was infiltrated this February 11 by a message that promoted the launch of a token.

The account was recovered hours later and a statement was issued clarifying that the newspaper specialized in Bitcoin has not launched any token, cryptocurrency or NFT, «we do not plan to do it in the near future.»

Amid the attacks, several accounts followers have claimed to have made investments, guided by promotions, being victims of fraud with cryptocurrencies.

Given this, and because the attacks have been presented internationally and have similar patterns, it is important that users continue A series of security recommendations.
