Pokémon GO It has been accompanying us for many years since its original launch, and one of the keys to its success is its particular map in which, walking in real life, different creatures appear.

They are quite detailed maps, and they are based on the model Open Street Maps (OSM), where users can collaborate with the different routes.

And recently, three hikers got lost in a forest in Spain, and had to use Pokémon GO itself to escape safely and return to the city.

At first, the lost hikers used Google Maps to see if they could find a route back to the city, but curiously they were not shown any of the trails they had in the area.

They found themselves totally lost in a very lush forest, not knowing how to return to the city safely.

In a curious move, They decided to use Pokémon GO to distract themselves a little, and they saw that the game maps did show the paths in front of them.

So they left Google Maps aside, focused on Pokémon GO, and through it they were able to find the correct way to return to the city.

The reason why these trails did not appear on Google Maps is that the maps have been created based on the information collected through cars and motorcycles, and a lush forest is no place for this type of vehicle.

However, as Pokémon GO is created based on routes made by the users themselves, it is quite likely that other hikers were previously in this forest recording the trails.

So now you know, if at any time you find yourself lost and see that Google Maps doesn’t help you, perhaps the solution is to use Pokémon GO.
