As has been seen in recent events during the war between Russia and Ukraine, Drones have become a crucial part on the battlefield.

For this reason, both nations have been in constant production of these devices and ddeveloping new anti-drone tactics.

In fact, even China has created a swarm system of more than 200 unmanned aerial vehicles and ways to evolve this technology continue to be investigated in various parts of the world.

However, it seems that these electronic devices are still not enough. Recent ways of countering the attacks have probably made Russia decide to create an AI system apart to increase the effectiveness of the soldiers and it is definitely something impressive.

Russia creates software capable of making decisions on the battlefield

With the powerful features of ChatGPT and other virtual assistants that have come to the fore over the past few years, you can do amazing things for productivity.

Although what is currently available is sufficient for many actions, the development of this technology never ceases to surprise. Indeed, Chinese researchers recently managed to use AI to create a drone with a 100% accurate assault rifle, but Russia wants to go beyond just keeping these flying devices.

In earthly confrontations, highly studied and tested tactics are required to achieve objectives. Because of this, the Eurasian country has worked in the area of the military structure of young officers to help them perform under pressure.

How does this new technology work? Given the Russian tactical inefficiency that has been determined after rigorous analysis on the front line, the Ministry of Defense has focused on developing software with advanced artificial intelligence that adapts to circumstances in real time.

According to Forbes, this system has been called Svod and works through satellite data and a set of algorithms that give it the ability to predict possible scenarios so soldiers can make decisions quick tactics in the moment.

Although it is not a technology focused on the evolution of unmanned aerial vehicles, they have an important role for the functioning of the Svod.

The AI analyzes the movements and patterns of the opponents in real time by watching what is happening from the drone cameras, also adding updateable satellite maps and intercepted radios.

These factors together are processed by the intelligent system to find solutions and display them on the screen of the device that the soldier has with himrevealing whether it is better to move, flank, shoot or retreat.

The idea of implementing this is that, during saturated combat, there is greater precision in the environments and the percentage of errors in the missions is reduced.

Nevertheless, Its effectiveness will depend on the stability of communications and development of sensors together with adaptive algorithms. Russia plans to deploy the Svod in April 2026, primarily deployed in Pokrovsk and other conflict zones.
