  • Bitcoin mining found a new business niche in AI data processing.

Shares of Bitcoin mining companies, which also operate in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, rose sharply on the stock market this week, driven by investor optimism after a recent correction.

At today’s pre-open, Cipher Mining (CIFR) shows an 8% gap up from yesterday’s close, IREN (IREN) posts an 8% increase driven by pre-open trading, and Bitfarms (BITF) stands out with an 11% increase over the regular session closing price.

This rally coincides with the announcement of a $38 billion financing led by banks such as JPMorgan Chase and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group to develop two data centers linked to Oracle Corp (ORCL).

The operation is divided into two lines of credit: $23.25 billion for a project in Texas and $14.75 billion for another in Wisconsin. These centers are part of the Stargate initiative, a plan by Oracle and OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, to invest $500 billion in AI infrastructure.

As NoticiasVE has reported, Bitcoin mining found a new niche in data processing for AI and high-performance computing (HPC). Companies in the sector are taking advantage of their facilities, originally designed to mine the digital currency, to meet the energy and infrastructure needs of AI.

These facilities, which include networking, cooling and specialized labor, are ideal for AI servers, creating synergies between both industries.

The collaboration between Bitcoin miners and AI companies seems to consolidate a more diversified business model, increasing profitability and attracting greater interest from investors.
