In a digital panorama as dynamic as the current one, data centers are often invisible, but essential infrastructure, which makes our daily life possible. These centers are the backbone of the modern Internet and are behind things such as video streaming or the processing of the complexes of AI. In Google Cloud we are aware of the essential role they play and we have a firm commitment to the investment and development of avant -garde infrastructure.

Google operates a wide network of data centers complexes in different countries. These data centers provide infrastructure to provide Google services as popular as the search engine, Google Maps and YouTube. And also for Google Cloud. In addition to the data centers, our global network is composed of 41 cloud regions, 124 zones and 187 network edge locations, all interconnected by one of the largest communications networks, which include several transoceanic cables. In this infrastructure it does not matter only the scale, but also the performance, reliability and efficiency. It is designed to offer the best possible experience, for the benefit of our clients.

We promote digital transformation in Spain

Spain is adopting the digital transformation with decision, and Google Cloud is present with the infrastructure and innovation necessary to accompany this exciting trip. Since we are observing an unprecedented demand for cloud services, we have assumed the commitment to provide Spanish companies and organizations with the tools they need to prosper in the digital age.

To meet this growing need, we were the first cloud supplier to Hyperscale that opened a region in Spain, with the inauguration of our Madrid region in 2022. This strategic decision brings us one more step to our Spanish clients and allows us to offer them access to our services with low latency and optimal performance.

We build a sustainable cloud for an increasingly digital world

The increasing demand for calculation power, especially derived from the AI boom, has put the question of sustainability. Our data centers are designed with efficiency and scalability criteria. To minimize our environmental footprint and maximize performance, we use avant -garde technologies, such as personalized hardware, advanced cooling systems and optimization assisted by AI. This constant search for efficiency is clearly reflected in a fact: the energy efficiency of our data centers is approximately higher than that of typical corporate data centers. Compared to the situation 5 years ago, our calculation power is almost four times greater today, to electricity consumption equality.

Our involvement with the sustainable future of Spain goes further. Recently, we have reached an agreement to acquire solar energy from a new photovoltaic plant located in Toro, Zamora. This measure will help our region in the cloud in Madrid and our offices in Spain work with a carbon -free energy percentage around 90% for 2025, which is a good sample of our effort to boost the Spanish digital economy of a responsible form.

Promoting the future together

We have high hopes in the future of cloud computing in Spain. We will continue to bet on technological innovation and associate with local organizations so that Spanish companies can occupy leadership positions in the digital economy.
