The future of television? Samsung and OpenAI create an “AI TV” with ChatGPT, DALL-E and more

One of the most competitive technological markets at the moment is that of televisions, where curiously the South Korean players LG and Samsung have a capital market share.

And given the advances in artificial intelligence, sooner or later the functions of this type of system will end up reaching most of our televisions.

And according to reports from South Korea, Samsung would have partnered with OpenAI to develop a television with artificial intelligence.

In this way, advanced artificial intelligence functions would be integrated into the next Samsung televisions.

This is not the first time that Samsung has taken a step of this magnitude, given that, for example, it had previously partnered with other technology giants such as Microsoft and Google to offer advances in AI in its ecosystem.

This supposed association between OpenAI and Samsung is going to offer functions such as ChatGPT to the South Korean brand’s upcoming televisions, basically being used for text generation.

Not only would it stop there, the next Samsung televisions would also include DALL-E for image creation or even other models for the issue of voice recognition and similar issues.

That is, what future Samsung televisions They could offer users personalized content recommendations, multitasking support, real-time translations, and obviously instant information about any doubts that the user has when watching a series or a movie.

Samsung already has an excellent market share in the television niche, reaching 28.8% in the first half of 2024, according to data from the market research firm Omdia.

At the moment OpenAI has not commented anything about the collaboration in this Samsung project, so we will have to wait for more information on the matter.
