Google is taking artificial intelligence further by integrating Personal Intelligence into the AI mode of its search engine. This function, which until now had been tested in the Gemini application, allows the search engine not only to access public information, but also understand and take advantage of personal data from Gmail and Google Photos to offer responses tailored to each user.

With this integration, the Google search engine’s AI mode will combine web results with private information, such as emails, reservations and travel photos, pto deliver much more personalized responses.

For example, if you are planning a weekend in another city, the search engine will not limit itself to showing a generic list of things to do, but will be able to review your reservations in Gmail and even your photos in Google Photos to offer specific suggestions adapted to your situation.

To do this, Google uses a system called context packingwhich selects only the most relevant data from emails and photos when necessary to answer your queries. The company ensures that the AI is not trained directly with your private information, and that learning is limited only to the questions you ask and the answers generated by the model itself.

This function It can also be useful for shopping.. For example, if you’re looking for a coat, AI mode can review your favorite brands and suggest products that fit your personal preferences.

At the moment, this feature is located in Labs, available only to Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscribers, and to users with personal English accounts in the United States.

The characteristic will not access your data without your permission. You can connect or disconnect Gmail and Google Photos at any time from the browser customization, in the Connected content apps section.

Although it is still in the early testing phase and there is no certainty that it will reach Europe in this form, this feature offers a preview of how artificial intelligence could be integrated with applications we already use, making our searches faster, more useful and adapted to our personal context.
