In the last few hours the user community is complaining about a new error that affects Android Auto, and specifically the application Google mapswhich remains frozen.
It seems to be affecting different vehicles that have non-touch infotainment screens, with the Google Maps application freezing when they try to use the back button in cars.
It is not clear from which version of Android Auto The failure is being experienced, but it began to be reported last month, since the Android Auto 13.3 version.
Initially, it began to be reported in Mazda brand cars where touch input is not available and interaction with Android Auto and Google Maps is done using a control knob.
In any case, a large group of people with Audi vehicles also confirm the same problem.
This error is reproduced when users click on the Google Maps interface, but they press the back button to return to the navigation screen, where it no longer works.
With this, the application freezes and no longer shows any type of address, and the only way for users to make the application work again is to disconnect their phones and reconnect them to their infotainment units.
It doesn’t matter a bit about the brand of the phone or the Android version, because it affects Samsung, Google Pixel and OnePlus devices, along with others.
The error also occurs when you have wireless or wired Android Auto.
It is unknown if Google will end up solving this error, although at least one specialist from the official forums community has asked affected users for more information.
