Beevolved, a company that mixes beekeeping with technological solutions for Bitcoin, officially announced the existence of a new mining hardware: hashdisk. The company enhances the disk -shaped design of this product, which “optimizes the dynamics of flow, reduces friction and provides structural integrity.”

According to Beevolved, Hashdisk is a small Bitcoin miner Open source of 5 volts and 1.2 TH/S that works at 15 j/th of efficiency. These miners are, therefore, of low power, although their stackable design makes them adequate to create versions of greater volume; 3 of them stacked acquire a power of 3.6 th/s.

On its design, Beevolved comments:

Unlike traditional Bitcoin mining devices, which are usually bulky and square, the elegant and rounded hashdisk not only improves visual attraction, but also improves functionality when it is integrated into fluid or air transport systems.

By maximizing its surface area through the round shape, the device promotes a “uniform distribution of heat” and generates “more effective thermal exchanges.” Hashdisk Integrate ventilation ports into the printed circuit plate (PCB).

The square or rectangular designs of traditional ASics, such as the Bitmain Antminer, use flat plates with chips aligned in rows. Although more powerful and suitable for large mining data centers, they generate hot points and depend on intensive cooling systems, such as noisy fans or liquid immersion. These designs have dominated the market since the ASICs were introduced for cryptocurrency mining such as bitcoin around 2012.

The round design of this ASIC takes advantage of the heat generated by Bitcoin mining as a usable by -product, according to Beevolved. The album allows “efficiently redirecting the heat of mining to support the central heating systems or even the immersion configurations that convert heat into hot water,” says the company.

The result is a more compact, efficient and reliable bitcoin mining solution that not only optimizes performance but also extends the hardware life and takes advantage of the unlimited potential of the heat of Bitcoin mining.

Beevolved created a “giant” (almost half -meter) hardware prototype for Bitcoin’s mining, stacking hashdisks, called Fezzik, “for the next chapter in the future of Bitcoin mining.” It has 624 ASIC BM1366 chips, and one hash rate dear 312 th.

At present, the 312 th/s of this Fezzik prototype The most powerful and profitable Asic of the market approaches in hashrate: the Antminer S21 Hydwhose hashpower is 335 th/s, and exceeds it slightly in efficiency, as the S21 has an efficiency of 16 joules by Terahash (J/TH). Also, it exceeds in HASH rate to other machines that use the SHA-256 algorithm, such as Antminer S19 XP HYD and Antminer T21.

In terms of efficiency, hashdisk, with its 15 J/th, is twice as efficient as the antminer S19 model, which has an approximate efficiency of 30 J/th. According to the data of Asic Miner Value, Hashdisk would enter the ranking of the first ten most efficient equipment in the market.

Another prototype created by Beevolved uses a single fan to cool all the hashdisk devices stacked by ventilation grilles and “an integrated online design.”

The Hashdisk project is currently in the early development phase. According to the project team, for that reason they are dedicated to the creation of prototypes, some of them sponsored by other communities and companies, since the objective is to “perfect the concept” of hashdisk.
