LG’s new mantra is called Zero Labor HomeHome without domestic work, its new proposal Physical AI in the form of LG CLOiD butler robot.
We have been seeing humanoid robots for years, but none of them do practical things, and they are focused on companies. LG CLOiD is a robot for the home that prepares breakfast, does the laundry, folds the clothes, and maintains an interesting conversation thanks to generative AI.
It is not a visual concept: LG is going to bring it to CES 2026, where it will carry out some of the aforementioned tasks.
LG CLOiD, a robotic butler for your home
It is humanoid robot for housework It consists of a main unit, a torso with two articulated arms, and a wheeled base equipped with autonomous navigation. The torso can be tilted to adjust its height, allowing the robot to pick up objects from knee height.
Each arm has seven degrees of freedom, the same mobility as a human arm. The shoulder, elbow and wrist allow forward, backward, rotary and lateral movements, while each hand includes five independently actuated fingers for precise manipulation.
CLOiD brain works as a hub for the home. It is capable of integrating into the ThinQ and ThinQ ON ecosystem to control the light, the dishwasher, and other appliances. You can turn the oven on and off, control the air conditioning, or start the washing machine.
The head has a screen, speakers, cameras and various sensors to speak using generative AI, like a chatbot. Communicates with humans through voice and facial expressions that are generated on the screen.
LG CLOiD uses what is now called physical artificial intelligencethat is, AI that does not give answers or generate content, like ChatGPT, but rather acts on the physical environment, manipulating it. For example, opening a door or turning on the microwave.
To do this, it uses two AI models. On the one hand, we have the Visual Language Model (VLM)which converts images and videos into structured, language-based understanding. and the Visual Action Model (VLA)which translates visual and verbal inputs into physical actions.
With physical AI, a robot can open doors or pick up objects it has never seen, because it recognizes that it is a door, or an object it can carry.
At CES 2026, CLOiD will demo where she takes the milk from the refrigerator and places a croissant in the oven, to prepare breakfast. Then, when the family leaves, she will put on the washing machine and fold the clothes.
It’s what we’ve all been dreaming about since we were children, but we still don’t know the most important fact: How much will it cost?
