Blackrock has just confessed to the market. The world’s first asset manager reaches a record amount of assets under management of 11.66 trillion euros worldwide. In fact the increase is exponential, 17.3% at the end of the third quarter of the year.

In the middle of that river of money, which would be used to buy NVIDIA, Apple, Microsoft and, incidentally, part of Alphabet-A, what stands out, in Spanish eyes, the approximately 32.4 billion worth of participation in the Ibex 35 right now, in each and every one of the companies in which it has a presence, to continue being the true owner and main shareholder of the index. In fact, it has just over 4.5% of the overall indicator.

It far exceeds, in the Spanish stock market, the presence of Vanguard Group or Capital Groupwhich have very significant participations in the selective, of 22,990 and 14,394 million euros.

It also happens that BlackRock, despite, as we will see, the high percentage it has in some companies and being the main shareholder in many of them, He does not hold representative positions on the boards of directors of the companies. It is what is known as a chemically pure, financial only investor.

And this is his portfolio, with more than recent changes after the failure of theBBVA takeover bid for Banco Sabadell. It has reduced its presence to 7.228% of its shareholding, in the entity chaired by Josep Oliú, while it remains its main shareholder.

It is also the main shareholder of BBVA, but, in this case, its positions have not moved since last July, since it owns 7.158% of its capital.

In fact, it is the great king of Spanish banking, remember, the sector that has the most weight within the Ibex 35, by far, around 30%.

Banco Santander has a 6.851% stake since last summer and BlackRock’s presence in CaixaBank is lower, at 4.68%, also unchanged since last July. Bankinter has owned 5.031% of its capital since last July 21

In the case of the second sector that weighs the most in the Ibex 35, that of utilities, we see that the presence of the world’s leading manager is also very significant. BlackRock is in Iberdrola with a percentage of its capital that reaches 6.23% without changes since July, only surpassed by the Qatari presence.

The State also surpasses it and the participation of the owner of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, in the capital of Redeia (REE), where the management company directed by Larry Fink owns 5.225% of its capital, is approaching. Nothing to do with what happens in its gas counterpart, Enagas, where the shareholding presence of BlackRock reaches 7.073%, exceeding the respective 5% of the SEPI, the States and also Ortega.

But, above all, in this sector its presence stands out as one of the large funds that distribute the capital of Naturgy (Gas Natural) where it reaches 18.831% of its capital.

We left the utilities, but we did not leave the energy. It is the main shareholder of Repsol, with 7.176% of its capital, while, in the case of Acciona, its participation in the company’s capital rises to 3.894, growing on August 21. In the case of Solaria, for its part, it has reached a 3.001% presence in its shareholding, since last September 29.

In Telefónica, its presence has reached 5.01% since July 28, while in Grifols A, since the beginning of July, it has been 4.274%. A similar presence is what it has in Fluidra, 4.079% since last August 13, while, in the case of IAG (Iberia), it is 3.646% since the summer.

Regarding the REITs, in MERLIN Properties, BlackRock reaches 4.632% of its capital, while in Inmobiliaria Colonial they have reduced their shareholding presence to 2.893% on September 22.
