One of the new electronic devices that are beginning to become popular among the mass market are smart rings, and there are more and more players participating in a market niche that promises to expand in the coming years.
And this year it was Samsung’s turn with its new Galaxy Ring which had been rumored for years, but when it was launched it was missing different sizes for thicker fingers, something that will be resolved later.
As has been reported in recent weeks, there are rumors that the South Koreans will launch sizes 14 and 15 for the Galaxy Ring this January.
Now there is a much more serious confirmation, and that is that these new sizes have just been certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) in models SM-Q514 and SM-Q515.
There is no new detail about this certification, but there is no greater mystery given that they are simply the same rings but for thicker fingers.
But taking into account that they were just certified on December 20, it makes it clear that South Koreans are already legally protecting themselves for their announcement in the coming days.
Everything seems to indicate that the next Galaxy Unpacked, which will be held on January 22, 2025, will be the date for the announcement.
At this event, in addition to having the new Galaxy S25 series, the South Koreans will also take the opportunity to announce the two new sizes.
Taking into account that Samsung’s direct competitors in this market niche such as Oura already have sizes of 14 and 15 for fingers, it was foreseeable that the South Koreans would also take the same path.
