The financial results of 6 of the 7 magnificent companies on Wall Street – NVIDIA is missing, which has an ‘Asian’ calendar when publishing them – mark a before and after in the dynamics of Wall Street and, of course, everything related to the AI megatrend.

But on this occasion even more than on previous occasions due to the publication of the quarterly accounts. There are very clear winners, but also losers, for his guidance or guides and by the reading of analysts and investors regarding operations with generative artificial intelligence. Sometimes they already discount it in the price of their shares and in others, just the opposite.

The big winner is Amazon and it is for two initial reasons. The first due to the reception with double-digit increases in its price after the publication and the second because of how far behind he had been in the race. It barely earned 1% in the entire year.

The company founded by Jeff Bezos has beaten estimates, but especially when it comes to earnings per share. We are talking about 1.95 dollars compared to the expected 1.57 and revenues exceeded 180.17 billion in that third quarter.

Although the true bastion of this rise is, without a doubt, its strong growth in cloud computingits AWS, with 33,000 million dollars compared to the 32,420 that the market expected. An increase of 20.2%, which improved the forecast growth by more than two points. And let’s remember that Amazon continues to be the leader in this field. But the levels of increase, according to its CEO, Andy Jassy, remain at a pace that they have not seen in this area since 2022, especially due to the solid demand for AI.

In fact, Amazon explains that is focusing on accelerating core infrastructure capacity, adding more than 3.8 gigawatts in the past 12 months. And until now, this impulse intercepts what it sees in the rearview mirror: the advances of Alphabet-A and Microsoft, and the greater growth they present in this area, along with the agreements signed on AI for their cloud services, which in the end has been the great drag, so far, in its price so far in 2025.

The rest, their layoff announcements in more than 14,000 announced although more than double that amount was reported by some sources, to reduce their expenses and implement them in capital. In this last item, it is expected to raise them to 125,000 million, a figure that will increase in 2026.

As if all this were not enough, the magic word IA with capital letters arrived yesterday afternoon from the hand of the deal with OpenAI worth $38 billion.

But the presentation of results has also been a great stimulus for Apple, which has managed to set new year-on-year highs, although without Amazon’s dream rebounds. Here its star product, its iPhone now number 17, and its strong demand has taken care of everything. Furthermore, this breaks the rumors of the poor reception of the latest version of its famous smartphone.

Results above expectations, but the best, it returns to where it used to: to give guides that had been cornered during the pandemic and that, for the December quarter, they seem to be frankly favorable in their execution. The idea is that its total income, that of the entire apple group, according to its CEO, Tim Cook, grow in a double-digit range, between 10 and 12%.

Everything to compose, what they hope will be with a solid financial performance, the best quarter in the entire history of the company.

Alphabet-A is also another winner for two reasons: its capital expenditure with AI in the central focus, with the solid growth in AI. We are talking about investments of between 91,000 and 93,000 millionabove what was announced at the beginning of the year which, in the best of cases, spoke of 85,000 million. And this will only be the beginning because more is expected in 2026.

In this way, most experts, from analysts of Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan see a very positive outlook for generative Artificial Intelligence.which until now was considered, especially with some failed attempts and with implementations below those of Microsoft, with the greatest risk for Google. Now, AI represents, they consider, more of an opportunity than a threat.
