You think you are uploading your mobile, but you are not doing it well for these reasons

If you believed that now that the USB type C cargo port is mandatory in all European Union mobiles your life was going to be easier to load your mobile, I regret to disappoint you, because at the moment it is not being at all at all.

In 2024 and 2025, I am beginning to find several situations that are testing the technological knowledge of consumers and their pockets.

Before loading a new mobile was very easy, because the charger was always included in the box. You knew that if you used the cable and the original current adapter, you were carrying it at the maximum possible speed allowed by the smartphone, except for very strange exceptions.

It was when the original charger was lost or broken when the problems appeared, since you met 3 different ports: mini USB, USB-C and Lightning. And in addition, each brand had its own fast charging technology and most loaders, although they slowly loaded, did not allow fast -manufacturing mobile charges.

The mess of cargo ports has ended once and for all thanks to the new European regulations that have ended with the Lightning port of the iPhones and the rest of Apple devices worldwide. The nightmare of asking for a borrowed charger is over and that nobody has one for your mobile, because in the new mobiles it only remains

But Fast charging is the obstacle that complicates what European regulation intended to simplifyand these are the things you should take into account in this new reality:

Now, due to European regulations, All mobiles are sold without the original current adapter in the box. You will only find in today’s boxes, much smaller, a USB-C cable to USB-C to Normal USB, in addition to the device and the instructions.

This will not surprise brand users such as Apple and Samsung too much, which several years ago, since they did not include the cargo adapter in the box. But it can be a click for those of other manufacturers that had waited until the last moment and they still added it by default.

This decision has been made to reduce electronic waste, very polluting and that are often not managed correctly. Also It presupposes that we already have a charger at home and that we can use itbut in practice, most times you will have to buy a current adapter for the charger.

For example, often the cable included in the box is USB-C to USB-C, and you may only have adapters with USB type A at home, the largest and rectangular that never plugs the first one on the right side. And even if you already have a current adapter at home, this can be old and work badly and do not want to use it on your new mobile. Or simply that your old charger does not support the fast charge that allows a new mobile.

In these cases, there is no other: you have to go through a box and actively search for a current adapter.

Do you want to buy the original charger? Is expensive and you can’t always

If you have a fast charging mobile and want to take advantage of it, the best solution is to look for a load adapter directly from the same smartphone brand, since all manufacture them.

But what a priori seems easy is not always.

The first obstacle is the price. Original chargers are usually more expensive than third parties in general And, in addition, if the mobile has 100W or more charging, the account can rise a lot.

And for sample, these examples:

  • Xiaomi: currently their loaders range from the 19.99 euros that its 22.5 W charger costs, at 59.99 euros of its 120W charger, through the 39.99 euros of the 67W model. In the last two cases, they include the cable.
  • Samsung: sells a 25W charger with cable included for 19.95 euros, and also another 50W.
  • Apple: its 20W adapter costs 25 euros and the 30W rises up to 45 euros and is the same as that of the MacBook. Apart, the USB-C cable to USB-C of 2 meters is worth 35 euros more.

To this is added an additional problem that I have encountered many times: Sometimes manufacturers do not have stock of their own loaders in all their variants.

So that even if you want to buy the original charger, it is not possible to get one or should you resign yourself with a lower speed and not make the most of the fast charge of the mobile.

It is not so easy to choose the current adapter of the third -party charger: some tips

Neither on iPhone nor on Android, this is the reason why you should never re -wind the cable in the charger

If you do not find the current adapter of the mobile brand itself or it seems too expensive, you have the option to buy a third party charger.

In this case, there are some things you should know.

The first, which is better to choose a brand specialized in loaders than to buy one of another mobile brand.

This is because Fast charging technologies of brands are not the same and are not intercompatible, So an Xiaomi Hypercharge charger, for example, will not quickly load a 120W OPPO or Motorola mobile, but only 10W. On the contrary, specialized brands bet more about technologies that are served in any mobile.

And the second one I have advanced it: it is the load technology.

In order not to take unpleasant surprises when you buy a third party charger, you must look for you to have Power Delivery (or PD). This is the fast charge standard that works in all brands And it has different versions, being PD 2 and PD 3 the most recent, fast and recommended. The Quick Charge standard, or QC, developed by Qualcomm.

Another aspect to take into account is GAN loaders, who use Gallician nitride instead of silicon, and allow them to be more compact and have more ports.

And another thing: if the adapter has several ports, look at what speed charges each one, since the general data in watts (W) that manufacturers give is divided. For example, I have a 70W charger with 3 ports, but only one of them reaches 70W.

Were all cables the same? Well it turns out that no

And if everything that I have already told you about the current adapters was no longer enough, I am sorry to tell you that the fast charge also depends on the cable you use. Not all USB cables support the fastest loads of the moment.

This depends on several things, such as the USB standard you use: USB 3 is the most recent and fast, but also slower previous versions in load – and data transfer. Normally, the serial cable that includes your mobile in the box will always be prepared for this maximum speed, except for specific cases such as the iPhone 16 Pro.

So if you have a mobile that loads above 67 watts, you should keep in mind that this old cable you have at home may not be enough to reach the highest speeds.

In these cases, you must buy cables that guarantee loads of 120 or up to 240W, which are not cheap and can easily cost between 20 and 30 euros.
