  • The TON cryptocurrency has remained in an extensive sideways range.

  • «The TON ecosystem attracts new participants daily,» says the analyst.

The Open Network (TON), once linked to Telegram, continues to expand despite legal controversies surrounding its creator, Pável Dúrov.

While the Russian businessman faces investigations in France, the TON ecosystem maintains stable growth in new users and adoption.

A recent analysis by CryptoQuant shows that TON adoption rate has grown againas seen in the following graph.

This metric, which measures the percentage of new addresses making their first transactions versus total active addresses, is a key indicator for evaluating the attraction of new entrants.

“The TON ecosystem is gaining new users daily,” said Joao Wedson, an analyst at the firm.

This increase in first transactions suggests that more people are interacting with the networkexpanding its reach and generating new opportunities within its ecosystem.

“Anyone who keeps an eye on TON knows that this is a great time to stay up to date with everything that’s happening there. The network is gaining momentum and those who join the movement now can benefit from the growth of the ecosystem,” Wedson added.

A stable price, but with a margin of uncertainty

In terms of value, the network’s native cryptocurrency toncoin (TON) has remained in a sideways range for the past six months, fluctuating between 4 and 7 dollars per unitas seen in the following TradingView chart.

At the moment, Its price stands at $5, after suffering a 6% drop in the last 24 hours. This places the crypto asset in 13th place among cryptocurrencies by market capitalization with 12 billion dollars, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Although this stability does not suggest immediate movement, Wedson highlights the possibility of a significant change in case of a sustained increase in user activity.

The impact of the accusations against Durov

Pavel Dúrov, founder of Telegram, was released on bail in France after facing serious accusations related to organized crime in 2024. Authorities accuse Dúrov of allowing the use of his platform in illicit activities such as drug trafficking, money laundering and pornography childish. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.as reported by NoticiasVE.

However, it is important to note that Telegram officially disassociated itself from TON in 2020. Since then, the development of the network has been left in the hands of the TON Foundation, an independent community of developers that uses the open source technology created by the messaging application.

Steady growth in user adoption reaffirms interest in TON in the cryptocurrency market, even amid controversy. Its ability to attract new participants, coupled with its decentralized technology, shows that the project has the potential to further establish itself in the cryptocurrency space.
