It not only analyzes what will happen to the labor market in the future, but also points out some of the jobs that are most likely to end up disappearing. Microsoft’s AI report
At first, many personalities such as Bill Gates and Sam Altman talked non-stop about the wonders that artificial intelligence would offer. How it would change everything for the better. Now, although the message may seem similar, there is a reality that no one can hide: AI is costing jobsand this will continue to be the case in 2026. Microsoft itself has recognized this.
He has done so by sharing a study in which he analyzes how artificial intelligence (especially tools like Copilot or Bing AI) could affect the labor market. It is particularly significant how this technology seems to threaten – always according to Microsoft – especially those professions that have a rather creative and vocational nature.
For example, the study recognizes that Translators and interpreters could find themselves in trouble, as could writers and authors of all kinds. The same will happen with historians, salespeople, programmers or radio hosts, among many other professionals. All of them would be on the list of what has been called «vulnerable professions.»
Curiously, nothing stands out about doctors, lawyers or psychologists. It is striking because many similar studies have previously stated that these could also be harmed by automation, which, it seems, will be inevitable. Almost no one denies it, although what does not seem so clear is how it can be faced.
Physical jobs are the future
Geoffrey Hinton, one of the fathers of AI, already said it: «If you want to work in the future, become a plumber.» With nuances, it is the same thing that Microsoft seems to expose in its report.
