The peak of daily transactions reached 2.89 million on February 7.

Commissions fell to $0.20 compared to $71 in May 2021.
The Ethereum network reached 17.3 million weekly transactions according to data from Token Terminal. The record occurred on the mainnet during February 2026. This explosion of activity responds to the arrival of thousands of autonomous artificial intelligence agents.
The upward trend began in October 2025 and was consolidated after the launch of the ERC-8004 standard at the end of last January, as reported by NoticiasVE. At the moment, almost 29,000 agents operate natively on the infrastructure of Ethereum.

The milestone marks a fundamental difference compared to the congestion suffered in May 2021. In that period, the network processed a maximum of 1.7 million transactions daily. This volume saturated the network and generated prohibitive costs for most users.

Today the network supports much greater demand maintaining minimum commissions for transactions. While in 2021 an operation cost $71, the current average is $0.20. We are talking about a difference of more than 99% reduction in transaction costs.

As seen in the graph above, activity levels in Ethereum have been growing since October 2025. Marking a milestone of 2.89 million transactions per day on February 7 of this year. Although the increase in activity has not been the catalyst, it is serving as fuel for the rise.
Capabilities and registration of the ERC-8004 standard
The ERC-8004 standard defines the way AI agents operate within Ethereum. The bots are evaluated according to their trustworthiness through a feedback system received from users who interact with them.
Assistants like Minara AI analyze financial markets and manage portfolios in an automated way. These tools interpret natural language commands to assist in complex investment decisions. Each action is auditable to guarantee security and transparency within the network.
This capacity of bots is being used in predictive markets such as Polymarket; it was recently reported that a developer had managed to convert USD 50 into almost USD 3,000 by operating in the betting markets of this platform. The bot would detect a trend, evaluate the possibilities and bet accordingly.
