Bankinter: Marshall Wace reduces the downward pressure on the value to 0.890%

Hedge fund Marshall Wace has reduced its short position in Bankinter to 0.890% from 0.98% previously, reaching its lowest levels since it revealed a significant position at the end of September last year.

Since peaking at the end of October, increasing its position to 1.30%, the fund has gradually reduced its bearish bet. By December 27, it had already dropped below 1%.

Marshall Wace’s current short position in Bankinter is valued at approximately €614 million, taking as a reference the current trading price of Bankinter on the Stock Market, which is around 7.70 euros per share. In today’s trading session, the shares of the entity led by Gloria Ortiz have remained stable compared to the previous session.

In addition to Marshall Wace, the Canadian pension fund has maintained a short position of 0.580% in the entity since November 26. On the other hand, Point72 AM has a 1,270% bet on Bankinter, since last December.
