Ethereum developers have announced a new date for the expected network update, known as Angerwhich is now scheduled to activate on December 3, 2025 (tentatively).
At first it was estimated that Fusaka would be ready to arrive between November 5 and 12 of this year, but The developers decided to delay this event for another month. The changes that this Hard Fork will bring are aimed at improving the scalability, efficiency and the general experience of users in Ethereum, one of the most relevant cryptocurrency networks globally.
The process will begin in 2 days, on September 22, with the «freezing of code» or «code freeze». This means that, from that date, developers will stop introducing new functionalities or significant changes in the update code. The rest of the tentative roadmap is as follows:
• Sept 25 – Release of Testnet clients.
• Oct 1 – Holesky fork.
• Oct 14 – Sepolia fork.
• Oct 28 – Hoodi Fork.
• Principles of Nov – Mainnet clients.
• Dec 3 – Fusaka activation in Mainnet.
The update, which combines the improvements of the consensus layer Fur and the execution layer Osakaintroduce 13 proposals to improve Ethereum (EIPS). Among the most prominent is the EIP-7594, which will implement the data availability sampling system (peerdas). This technology will allow the nodes to specialize in the storage of different types of data, which will drastically reduce the costs of transactions in layer networks 2as arbitrum and base.
In addition, Fusaka will bring other important optimizations. The EIP-7642 will eliminate the obligation that the nodes store obsolete data, speeding up synchronizations. On the other hand, EIP-7823 and EIP-7883 are designed to protect the network of service denial (two) attacks, limiting data entry. The gas limits will also be adjusted with the EIP-7825 and EIP-7935, establishing a smaller limit for individual transactions, but a larger limit for the blocks, in order to increase the capacity of the network without compromising its safety.
Developers are also working at the EIP-7951, which promises to improve the user experience in hardware wallets and in Mobile devices with operating systems such as iOS and Androidmaking the network more accessible to a broader audience. In general, the update is expected Anger Transform Ethereum into a lighter, fast and decentralized network, laying the foundations for future updates, such as «glamsterdam» in 2026.
