Lenovo warns: its laptops will increase in price in March

Lenovo computers rise in March

Lenovo already warned a few weeks ago that it would raise prices, but now it has set dates. Wade McFarland, director of channels at Lenovo North America, has sent a letter to its partners and distributors, which has been leaked via Videocardz. In it it says that «the company is forced to adjust the product configurations of its IDG (Intelligent Devices Group) divisions, such as laptops and tablets, and ISG (Infrastructure Solutions Group), which includes servers.» It is a way of saying that the prices of these products are going to increase.

Lenovo asks its distributors to place your orders before the end of Februarysince prices will increase in March. Even by placing the order before the end of the month, the cost is not guaranteed.

According to the letter, if the order is placed in February but cannot be shipped by March 31, it will be subject to a mandatory price review.

Distributors are going to pass this increase directly to usersso at the end of March or beginning of April computers will cost, at least, 20 or 30% more. But the increase is not fixed, it will depend on how the RAM market behaves, which right now is absolute chaos.

Other brands, such as Dell, have also announced price increases. Raspberry has already increased its products by up to 70% on some of its boards.
