Google has been making different changes to its search engine in recent times, some changes that have not pleased most users, who believe that the search engine has relegated certain sites to oblivion and, on the other hand, it has given greater importance, for example, to YouTube and social networks, where sometimes the information is not entirely reliable.
Now Google has announced a change that could be quite useful for its search engine. It is a function called Preferred sourcesan experiment available within Search Labs, that allows users to customize the outstanding news section when choosing their favorite news media.
Once this function is activated, Users can manually select the informative media they consider more reliable.
You can see a star icon in the head of the outstanding news section, so that they can mark the preferred sources and thus appear more often in their searches.
Of course, Google clarifies that this does not guarantee that only favorite means appear at the top of the results, but they will be given priority when they have recent and relevant content.
On the other hand, those same means that have been selected with a star will be shown in a special row, so that they are more easily located.
In any case, this functionality for the Google search engine is, for the moment, in the test phase for users in the United States and Indiaand we’ll see if it reaches the rest of the markets.
