The Spanish government has presented new economic projections that point to sustained growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the next few years. These projections include an increase in GDP growth rate by 2025, which goes from 2.4% to 2.6%, and remains at 2.2% by 2026.
He Minister of Economy, Commerce and Company, Carlos BodyHe stressed that these projections reflect a solid growth pattern and encouraging perspectives for the future of the Spanish economy. These positive data are based on the recent report of the National Statistics Institute (INE) that revealed 3.2% GDP growth in 2024, which positions the country in a favorable position for the coming years.
The expected economic growth is based on the impulse of private consumption and investment, as indicated by Minister. These two pillars will be key to maintaining balanced growth in the coming years.
One of the positive signals in the economic scene is the estimated creation of approximately 500,000 jobs per year. In addition, the unemployment rate is expected to continue decreasing, standing at 10.4% in 2025 and 9.7% in 2026, which represents an improvement with respect to the previous projections.
The Government projects a 2.5% increase in the occupation by 2025 and 2.3% by 2026. This growth will be accompanied by an improvement in productivity per hour worked, which will contribute to the economic development of the country in the coming years .
