The court has resolved that the JV must pay Qatar Foundation 104.6 million catari rials (equivalent to 24.3 million euros at today’s exchange rate).
Knowledgeable sources of the process indicate that This amount represents 3.3% of the total claimed by Qatar Foundationtaking into account the more than 210 million euros executed in guarantees. The total amount requested by Qatar Fundation amounted to more than 950 million euros, therefore, this award eliminates a contingency of up to 740 million euros for the JV.
Nearby sources indicate in the same way as This resolution confirms the strength of the position defended by Ohla and represents a favorable resolution in a complex process. It should be noted that the award will not have a negative impact on Ohla’s financial statements, since the amount is completely covered by the corresponding provision. In addition, the JV has 40 million euros to deal with the obligations derived from the award, which shows the prudential criteria that OHLA applies in its estimates.
The same sources add that in the face of the resolution of this process, Ohla had provided in the balance a total of 28 million euros to deal with the result of it. Once the award was known, and after covering the obligation derived from it, the positive net result for the company would amount to 15 million euros, which would be reflected in the annual accounts. This conservative forecast, which Ohla has been communicating transparently since this process began, highlights the solidity of the group’s financial management and its ability to anticipate and mitigate risks. The arbitral tribunal will issue an additional resolution on coasts and interests before October 31, 2025.
With this resolution, Ohla opens the way to a new phase on your road map, marked by a solid financial and operational position. This positive evolution has been supported in recent years due to a sustained improvement in Las Ventas, which exceeded 4,100 million euros at the close of the last year, as well as for an Ebitda that has more than duplicated in the last five years. To this is added a generation of strengthened box, a significantly more sanitized project portfolio, and a debt reduction of more than 530 million euros in the same period. These advances consolidate Ohla’s transformation and reinforce their sustainable growth for the future.
