Why does artificial intelligence generate so much animosity? Perhaps it is due to the catastrophic predictions of some, the disastrous layoffs that are already being carried out by many companies, or the warnings of mental health experts. But the truth is that many members of Generation Z have a problem with AI and tools like ChatGPT.

On the one hand, everything indicates that this technology will not only be the future, but to a certain extent of It is the present. Without going any further, the news recently broke that half of what is published on the Internet is already generated using this technology. On the other, Young people feel embarrassed when they use chatbots. Above all, if it is to work or help with studies.

The shame of AI

You may have already heard it before: «AI Shame» (which in Spanish could be translated as «AI shame»). But even if you’ve never heard that term, chances are you won’t be late. Somehow, The jobs carried out by artificial intelligence are being associated with a fast, deceitful and cheap way of acting. And Generation Z knows it.

Why does something like this happen? Surely due to the bad press that artificial intelligence, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and other similar chatbots generally have. Whether this bad press is justified or not is difficult to know. What is clear is that the somewhat sudden appearance of AI has generated a paradox that is there, and that worsens every day.

This is already evident in many international media, which They talk about anxiety, pressure and discomfort among many young people. To begin with, they fear being judgmental for depending to a greater or lesser extent on artificial intelligence. As if because of this his own abilities were called into question. The big question is: is there an alternative at this time?

Many companies are not only blatantly betting on artificial intelligence, but are only interested in those professionals who use this technology for their work. They believe that this way everything will be done faster and more efficiently. Quantity versus quality, as they say. So young people are between a rock and a hard place.

Artificial intelligence, heaven and hell

The problem, many experts say, is that AI has emerged so suddenly that many people have not had time to assimilate it. That is, learning to live with it, also in a professional way. And what happens then? Well, it is improvised, and that is not always entirely positive.

For example, there is the data. In one of the most recent surveys carried out on the matter, 65% of the members of generation Z who were asked about it, They assured that this technology did not always increase their productivity, but rather the opposite.
