Currently, Near’s AI assistant is in Alpha phase.
-
This artificial intelligence is open source.
An artificial intelligence assistant created by Near Protocol can now use your cryptocurrencies and execute on-chain instructions. Called Chat.near.ia, it can be used from its generative assistant website, although it is still in phase Alpha or early development.
According to Near, a chain specified for creating decentralized applications, “the alpha version of NEAR AI Assistant is taking the first steps to execute actions on behalf of the user, such as preparing blockchain-based actions or purchasing.” In the words of the developers, “it works for you, it doesn’t just talk to you.”
The novelty of this AI assistant is, therefore, that it is capable of executing actions using user instructions through “agent” modules within the Near blockchain, as reported by its creators.. To execute these instructionsit is necessary for the user to connect their wallet to the AI assistant.
The cryptocurrency wallets enabled to connect them are MyNearWallet, Sender, Here Wallet, Meteor Wallet and Bitte Wallet. Additionally, have some Near Protocol (NEAR) token in them to pay the fees involved in using them.
What can Chat.near.ia do?
Additionally, this assistant can “create a memecoin about space”, “buy new t-shirts”, “exchange NEAR for BTC” or remember the user’s favorite color. The latter is possible because this artificial intelligence has user-specific memory and can act on your behalfboth in Web2 and Web3, “connecting with other AI agents and services,” according to Near Protocol.
At the time of writing, this artificial intelligence It has 61 “agents”, or programming modules that allow various actions to be executed. For example, one of them called “nearvember-mint-agent” allows you to mint a free NFT. Another is a computer engineering assistant, capable of creating Python command-line programs or web applications.
As Near’s statement comments, this artificial intelligence assistant with cryptocurrencies is open source:
“We are open-sourcing the entire platform to allow the community to build more integrations and functionality, as well as to offer the assistant to their own users.”
Near Protocol, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence network
As it is in alpha state, there are not too many functionalities available at this point in Chat.near.ia, as is the name of the assistant. According to the developers, future versions will be able to “predict user needs by analyzing context, perform complex tasks by coordinating a series of other agents that perform different jobs, and even perform transactions with third-party services in both Web2 and Web3.” on behalf of the user.”
AI assistant protected by private keys
Near Protocol ensures that this AI assistant is private, and that the data belongs only to the user who uses it. This is presumably because the data left to the AI are associated with the private key controlled by the user, through the wallet you are using to interact with the AI.
Soon, the development tools for this artificial intelligence will allow you to create agents and models with NEAR AI, in addition to training and evaluating ready-made models. According to Near, both developers and users will be able to earn rewards and royalties for using models.
Chat.near.ia is a project led by Illia Polosukhin
Illia Polosukhin, co-founder of Near Protocol and who announced his project perspective in June this year, is a prominent name in the field of artificial intelligence. Polosukhin is known for being one of the co-authors of the influential article “Attention Is All You Need”, a history-making research paper published in 2017, on machine learning. It was written by eight Google scientists, including Polosukhin
This research paper in which Polosukhin participated was essential in the development of “transformer architecture.” which laid the foundation for advances like GPT-3 and ChatGPT.
